Jeddah · Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

A corridor between
two shores.

Afrabia is an investment house in Jeddah. We carry Gulf capital into African ventures, and the world's capital into the hospitality of Makkah and Madina.

The crossing is old.

Merchants, scholars and pilgrims have crossed the Red Sea for fourteen centuries. At its narrowest, the water between the two shores is less than thirty kilometres across.

The money rarely crossed with it.

Gulf investors hold patient capital. African ventures are built for exactly that kind of money. The two rarely meet on terms either side can trust, and arranging those terms is Afrabia's whole business.

Capital has crossed the Red Sea for centuries, deal by deal. Afrabia was founded in Jeddah to give it a permanent address: one house, present on both shores and answerable on both.

the thesis

Africa and Arabia were never far apart.

Traders in Jeddah knew the ports of East Africa the way they knew their own streets. Grain, gold and pilgrims moved across this water long before anyone drew a map of markets.

The trade had ships and the faith had routes. Capital never had an institution of its own on this water, so we built one: present on both coasts, accountable under the law of each.

what we do

Five sectors,
one corridor.

Afrabia operates inside each of these markets. We hold the land, the licences and the relationships that turn a promising map into a working asset.

  • 01

    Food security

African farmland, processing and supply chains, carried through to Gulf tables.

    Harvest on African farmland
  • 02

    Mining & critical minerals

Gold first, then the metals the energy transition will demand.

  • 03

    Development & infrastructure

Ports, power and shipyards: the hard assets of a building continent.

  • 04

    Hospitality · Makkah & Madina

Hotels serving the two holy cities and the millions who arrive each year.

    Technology

Electronics assembly, data centres and the digital rails a fast-connecting continent now builds for itself.

Makkah & Madina

Each generation makes the same journey.

Millions travel each year to stand before the Kaaba and to pray in the Mosque of the Prophet, peace be upon him, in lean years and abundant ones alike. Under Vision 2030 the Kingdom is expanding the two holy cities to receive far greater numbers. Afrabia opens that hospitality to investors who understand what they are joining.

We operate where we invest.

Already on the ground

Our teams live and work in the markets we cover, and they stay through the whole cycle.

The relationships are ours

We deal directly with the ministries that set policy and the authorities that hold land title. Those relationships took years of presence to earn.

Our capital goes first

We answer every hard question about a market for our own money before we ask a partner to commit theirs.

One standard on both shores

We keep a single compliance and disclosure standard in every market we enter, set by whichever regulator asks the most.

the method

How a crossing is made.

We take each opportunity through the same five steps, from first sighting to an asset an institution can hold.

  1. 01

    Origination

We are usually the reason a deal exists. Most of what we close never reached an open market.

  2. 02

    Intelligence

We examine the geology, the agronomy, the counterpart's history and the title behind the title.

  3. 03

    Structuring

We build the vehicle and its protections before any capital moves, and we over-engineer both on purpose.

  4. 04

    Execution

Operators with proven delivery records run the work, under tight management discipline.

  5. 05

    Stewardship

We stay invested and accountable after close, on the ground beside our partners until the crossing is complete.

in the open

We publish what we learn.

Reliable reporting on this corridor is scarce and mostly second-hand. Ours comes from our own files.
